kulturbärg: Poetry Slam

03.05.2024

For the fourth time, slam poets are gathering for the popular "kulturbärg Poetry Slam" at the World Nature Forum (WNF) in Naters.

Under the guidance of experienced poet and moderator Pesche Heiniger, the poetry competition will unfold over three rounds. The audience determines who receives the winner's whiskey. Peter Heiniger

Pesche Heiniger, born in 1981, calls Oberfrittenbach in the Emmental region home. He loves writing, and he loves the stage. His texts are diverse, his language juicy and virtuosic. He debuted as a slam poet in 2015. He mostly performs solo, sometimes with Remo Zumstein or with his band Heiniger & The Jolly Carpenters. In 2018, he self-published his first book "Furliwurlibibadndadudlidu." His latest work is the short story "Kleine Auszeit," published in 2021.

Gina Walter

Gina Walter, born and raised in the beautiful Baselbiet, has been shaking up Swiss slam poetry stages since 2015. She proudly held the title of "U20 Swiss Champion 2017" for a year and really took off from there. Since then, she has traveled as a poet, moderator, and workshop leader to various places in the German-speaking world. At the German-language championships in Zurich (2018) and Vienna (2022), she reached the semifinals twice for Switzerland. Her texts? A medley of everyday topics mixed with a pinch of humor and a dash of sarcasm.

Joël Perrin

Since 2015, Joël Perrin has lived between medical dissection rooms and slam stages, becoming the U20 Swiss Champion, making it to the finals of the German-language championships, and declining a European Championship participation. His texts have pitched their tents on the lyrical border between genius and madness, they are razor-sharp and display more rhythm than a BBraun Space P Infusomat®. Joël Perrin dissects worldviews into words - and distills them into linguistic catharsis. There is a life before death.

Samuel Richner

Samuel Richner opened his mouth for a scream for the first time in 1999 and never closed it again. Growing up among the sandstones of the capital, Samuel Richner lives in Bern. Since 2017, he has been on various stages, earning the bottles of whiskey that his friends receive for Christmas. He feels so comfortable on stage that he would prefer to live on one. In 2022, Samuel Richner won the Swiss championships in poetry slam.

Johannes R. Millius

Johannes R. Millius was born in the early 1990s in Valais or - more likely - found in the ball pit of an IKEA store. Today, he works as a cultural delegate for Leuk-Stadt and moves in the independent theater scene. He is a sidekick in Fabienne Hadorn's "Kaboormroom," produces "Die Eltern" (with Matto Kämpf, Stefanie Grob, Gerhard Meister, Simone Chen, and Rahel Hubacher), and performs with Daniel Blatter as the cabaret duo "Wort und Totschlag." In addition, he writes columns for the Walliser Boten, directs, works as a speaker, and wants to be a veterinarian when he grows up. He dislikes orange marmalade and Paolo Coelho.
